There have been plenty of talk on who will come to Manchester United next season, but there are also a lot of debates on the players which will depart from Old Trafford.
There are a few names who are tipped to be sold or released whether Van Gaal stays or Jose Mourinho arrives.
- Michael Carrick
The English veteran is yet to know his fate at the club since he still hasn’t been offered a contract extension and seeing that his current one ends in a few months, it could mean that the message is clear from the board that he needs to find a new club.
Carrick is already attracting interest from Premier League clubs including Everton.
- Phil Jones
Jones could have been labeled as one of the best English defenders by now but it seems like the injury curse awaits him around every corner. A club like Manchester United cannot afford to put his faith in a player who cannot stay fit.
- Marouane Fellaini
Fellaini hasn’t been as ‘bad’ as everybody thinks but his overall game isn’t world class and despite the fact that plenty of managers would be happy to have him on their team and use him properly, this season shows that with how the fans react to him, it could be his last.
- Antonio Valencia
The Ecuadorian also suffered a long term injury but during his recovery time, the team found much younger and extremely bright players who can take on the right back position.
Players like Varela and Fosu–Mensah excelled in that area while Darmian is still adapting to the Premier League. This could only mean that Valencia’s place is in jeopardy.
- James Wilson
We’ve all seen the kind of impact 18 year old Macrus Rashford has made since his debut for the club and with the team aiming to bring in top strikers, James could be sold, loaned again or even released by the club this summer.
