Tottenham winger Andros Townsend could miss the start of the season due to a shoulder injury.
The Englishman suffered the blow earlier in pre-season and was not aboard the club’s flight to the USA on Monday. The likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado, and Vlad Chiriches are also not in America, but due to transfer talks.
Townsend is currently set to stay at Spurs despite Aston Villa’s interest; however his injury could rule him out of the opening day of the season when Tottenham travel to Manchester United. Ryan Mason is also injured at present but should be fit.
With less than two weeks separating us from the start of the English Premier League, Manchester United fans will soon start to get irritated by the lack of the world class names they were promised. Seems like the dream of seeing Sergio Ramos in a Manchester United shirt is going to stay a dream.
Famous Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balagué hinted on his twitter account that the Sergio Ramos situation is probably coming to an end, and he’s set to sign a new contract.
“So I see Real Madrid has called Sergio Ramos’ bluff, as per Spanish media. What next? New contract? How surprising, ey!”
That is about the bad news, but the good news is Pedro talks are ongoing, and there could be an announcement very soon.
Van Gaal also hinted that he needs big names in order to compete for the title, Angel Di Maria is about to leave the club as we all know, so it would be a shame if United fans see a star leave without getting a proper replacement for him. Either way, the next week or two will probably see United back in action when it comes to the transfer market, while the transfer window is still far from over.
